"2020 has been a rollercoaster for us all. All things considered, I am pleased with how far we have come from the March shutdown to a busy holiday week at all venues... Our alpine and freeride programs were delayed a week due to weather and has since been back in action with the help of Mother Nature. Some of our full-time alpine athletes and staff participated in successful training camps in Copper Mountain, CO and Sunday River, ME as the rest of the staff at Belleayre, Gore and Whiteface prepped their training centers refining our operating procedures with efforts to have a seamless transition back to snow." As many of you heard, Governor Cuomo announced the opening of ski areas with the necessary precautions due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This is exciting news and our staff is busy preparing for the winter season - which is quickly approaching. Remember to register at NYSEF.org/Registration to secure your spot this season!

NYSEF wishes everyone a healthy holiday. Programs across all venues and disciplines are well on their way. Although we have some unfortunate weather happening overnight. The snow angels are coming, they are in sight.... Please be patient as we may have to adjust training plans. It will be best for a successful season in the end. NYSEF - Belleayre Program Director, Jim Catalano did his ride in support of the @kellybrushfdn on Monday in the trails! Check out his ride on NYSEF’s Strava Team and join him in riding or supporting the Kelly Brush Foundation in September! The KBF provides protective equipment like b-net to NYSEF and other snowsport organizations. Thank you for the support AND WAY TO GO JIM!

Another successful fall conditioning at Belleayre for both athletes and parents! Thank you to the parents for helping roll b-net and do our yearly maintenance to the net to keep the athletes safe on the hill!

This coming Monday NYSEF at Belleayre Program Director, Jim Catalano will be doing his part to support the Kelly Brush Foundation by riding a 25 mile mountain bike loop. The KBF provides grants to clubs for safety equipment and education. We apply for grants to help purchase B-Net. The same B-Net you see at all competitions and training. We were unable to do the traditional presentation of the New York State Ski Racing Awards (NYSSRA) awards this summer. As part of the presentation, recipients like Coach of the Year, Jim Catalano, do a "thank you" for making their nomination possible. We would like to share a video that Jim put together to show his appreciation of the award. Thanks Jim and congrats to all of the NYSSRA Award recipients!

Thank you to everyone who participated and shared the NYSEF auction. Despite not being able to celebrate together, we felt the sense of community this week. NYSEF will be contacting all auction winners shortly. Have a great weekend!
