Last Night’s Black History Month Celebration honoring amazing leaders including @Lisa Bing @Dr. Melony Samuels, @Giovanni Tavares and our own @Roni Harris. Mos...tly, but not totally a virtual event, we did do our traditional presentation of the Kente Stoles - thank your @Jerry Kwabena Kansis. We also had a moving tribute to those we lost - Dr. Roy Hastick, Samuel Dunston and Mayor David Dinkins- and a wonderful musical performance from the Ifetayo Cultural Arts Academy. At the Vietnam Veterans Plaza for Vietnam Veterans Day.

I know this happened a few days ago, but truth be told, I haven’t had the strength to post it until now. And I know those who hate this President won’t underst...and this video’s significance, or will mock & dismiss it. But as someone in this Administration who has been fighting tirelessly by his side for the past four years against real and well-funded forces that want us to fail, this video made me crumble to my knees. You have no idea how exhausting it is to discover that the New York Times is writing yet another hit piece on your life instead of focusing their energy reporting on the inhumane conditions suffered by nearly 1M residents of the New York City Public Housing Authority. You have no idea how exhausting it is to realize that when they can’t discredit the hard and real work that you’ve accomplished on the ground over the past 4 years on behalf of low-income minorities, their only recourse is to discredit you as an individual. You have no idea how exhausting it is to have them indirectly hurt your family, friends and coworkers with their deliberate and misleading reporting. Again. Simply because you work for and have made significant strides on behalf of someone they truly despise. But if you think that’s exhausting multiply it by ONE TRILLION and maybe, just maybe, you will understand what it’s like to be this man for a FRACTION of a second. God bless this President, his family & the grueling sacrifice he has made only to be the brunt of such unrelenting hatred, obstruction and coordinated subversion from Day One. Even his greatest detractors admit that they cannot deny how much he loves this country. As Rogan OHandley said, I truly believe that - much like Ronald Reagan, who was likewise mercilessly ridiculed & mocked while in office, The history books will look fondly upon what Trump has been able to accomplish against all odds. #MAGA #SoundOn
