"One of my best memories at Tandon was becoming President of SHPE. It was a great honor to be elected and lead such a strong group of talented, inspiring people. It was a wonderful experience being able to bring opportunities to our Chapter, strengthen our Latine community, and help students gain internships or jobs. I am grateful for all our general body meetings, Mentes Fuertes events, and social gatherings. . Apart from working and building a life for myself, I hope that ...I can pay it forward and help empower my community, be a role model to my family, and others to pursue STEM. I hope to strive to be the best I can be, continue to learn, and inspire others. Don't be afraid to step outside your comfort zone, try new things, and challenge yourself. These are the best ways you learn and find your voice. . Thank you to my parents who have supported me and inspired me since Day 1. I would not be here if not for you. You’ve both taught me it’s not how you start but how you finish, and I applied that all throughout college. I owe my resilience and perseverance to you both." . Congratulations, Adriana, and thank you for your leadership! And a huge thanks to everyone for joining us in celebrating the amazing Class of 2021 see you on Commencement Day! #TGW2021 #NYU2021 #NYUTandonMade See more

"Explore! If something interests you, take a class on it. This is how I ended up double minoring in BEMT and SUE. Whether it's through classes, internships, or projects, go outside of your orbit and explore. . Learning how to laser cut was a pivot moment for me. Once I learned it, I somehow found a way to incorporate using the laser cutters for all of my final projects first semester, and ended up even spending 8 hours in the MakerSpace for one of them. I started working the...re Fall of sophomore year, and it's really helped me grow because I love helping other bring their ideas to life. . Hard to choose just one from a lot of great mentors these past few years, but a common thing I've learned from most of them is that nothing is impossible, and if something doesn't work, keep trying, and never give up. Things that don't work out can be up-cycled into a new project, so don't think you've ever wasted your time." . Congrats, Florentina! #TGW2021 #NYUTandonMade See more

"I would say that New York is the city where dreams are lived and Tandon is the platform which would help you to do that so utilize that platform by working hard and fulfill all your dreams. . The best memory at Tandon was studying in Dibner library and staying there till late, sometimes even sleeping there, working hard towards my future goals during the exam time. Furthermore, having fun with friends, sometimes bunking lectures, and sneaking out at Jasper Kane Café also add...s to all these memories. . Robert Otruba, who was my faculty, inspired me by his knowledge and also by telling life lessons that motivated me to do well in my life. Also, I have friends and family who have always helped me in every way possible during this whole journey. One thing that I have learned by being in New York City is to never give up and fight till the end." . Congratulations, Khushboo! #TGW2021 #NYUTandonMade See more

"My favorite memory at Tandon is after studying with my friends at 2MTC, we played Avalon. My role was Merlin, or the leader for the good team, but my game performance was so good, I tricked everyone into thinking I was the leader for the evil team! . I learned a lot about failure from various people throughout my undergraduate experience, namely: my mom, Professor Matthew Campisi, and EG1001 guest speaker James Altucher. They all mentioned that everyone's response to failure... is usually dejection you weren't good or smart enough to achieve what you wanted to. But so what? Who cares? Just fail. Even if you fail, that's it. If you break an electronic board or component, buy another one. If you fail a class, you just have to retake it. If you fail an exam, you learn what you don't know. If you fail at a relationship (romantic or not), you understand yourself better. Don't be afraid of failure, embrace it instead. Make the most of every opportunity: career, relationships, etc. If you can't find a path to your goal, forge one yourself." . Thank you for your wisdom, Cassandra, and congratulations! #TGW2021 #NYUTandonMade See more

"My favorite memory is my first Open Mic performance with the Tandon Performing Arts Club in November 2019. The Pfizer auditorium had several students and faculty in attendance, and I played guitar and sang some songs by Pink Floyd and John Mayer. Despite just about an hour's prep, the performance turned out great and was well appreciated and applauded! . A person who inspired me was Prof. Tom Reddington from Computer Science, who was also my supervisor at NYU Vital, a privat...e cloud platform which supports online labs for hundreds of students in several CS courses. I learnt from him that when working as an engineer on such a large-scale system that impacts so many students and faculty, one must NOT PANIC and remain calm. Crashes and errors are fixed efficiently if one does not get overwhelmed and remains steady and cool. . Don't restrict yourself to simply completing your coursework in your time here. Engage with people from other departments and NYU schools, and make use of all the facilities across both campuses. While I achieved both academic and professional success here at Tandon, I also enhanced my piano skills while playing the Dibner piano between classes, gained some woodworking experience in the MakerSpace, and recorded some guitar tracks at the world-class recording studios of NYU Steinhardt, all while collaborating with other NYU students." . Great advice, Suryansh congrats! #TGW2021 #NYUTandonMade See more
