Oak Hall Farm

My 9 year old hen, Speckles, isn’t looking very good. I think it might be her time. I love this old girl. I’ve been trying to get her to eat, but she’s not interested. She turned down raisin bread and It’s her favorite. That’s how I know she’s not feeling well.

I had to lock Fable in his stall two days in a row. I filled the grain bins the first day and the hay shed the next. He hates being locked inside. He’s not as bad as when I brought him back home last year. He would literally break out in a sweat and be drenched. I had to actually tranquilize him when a blizzard struck the day after he came home and I kept him inside at night. I’ve been working with him all year to help relieve his anxiety. He’s so much better, but two days in a row was too much for him. I let him out and once outside, he bucked off all of his excess energy!

We got our winter hay delivery. The weather was perfect. Now I don’t have to worry about getting down the driveway when (if?) the snow flies.

After days of temperatures in the teens and twenties, it finally warmed up today. The girls were enjoying a Spa Day.
