OFA BAND READY TO PREMIERE COMMISSIONED MUSIC FOR OWEGO The Owego Free Academy Band members and their director, Lindsey Williams, have commissioned Dr. Dana Wil...son, of Ithaca College, to write a new work for the concert band in honor of the Village of Owego. The OFA Band members were inspired to seek the commission after learning past OFA teachers and student teachers, Frank Battisti and Philip Paul Bliss were active in commissioning and composing. The Tioga County Historical Society has been instrumental in helping collect information on historic figures and events for the piece. Throughout the 2020-21 school year members of the 7-12 bands and choruses learned about local history, composing and commissioning virtually with Professors Wilson and Battisti. Congratulations to our friends at Maine-Endwell for their funny performance of 67 Cinderellas. It was a new take on the Cinderella story where the shoe fit 67 women and the resulting chaos.
