Maisy is tired after running on the treadmill. This girl absolutely loves that thing. Giving your dog a proper outlet for mental and/or physical exercise is sometimes all they really need

Maisy is making good decisions this morning... laying down..((on her own!!)) while vacuuming. Previously Maisy took much enjoyment out of chasing the vacuum. Now she’s making healthier decisions.

Look at this girls fun attitude! This is what i like to see from a dog in training. Happy and ready to go. Maisy is almost through with her first week out of 2, board and train program. Her foundational training is almost done, so over the next week and some days, we will be focusing on her more problematic behaviors that her owning is running into at home

So what’s Maisy up to today on her 2nd day of her board and train? Today Maisy is learning how to do nothing. Yes, you read that correctly... nothing. I believe it is extremely important for dogs to learn how to just.. Relax. Learn how to do literally nothing and just.. be. So part of this includes no talking to her, no petting her or giving her any sort of attention. Maisy already seeks out attention in inappropriate ways with her owner. This includes behaviors like consistent barking and even getting a bit mouthy/nippy. Maisy is going going going all of the time which, ultimately, isn’t a healthy or fun state of mind to live in. So today, Maisy learns how to do nothing

Maisy is starting off 2021 with my first board and train of the year. This spicy little girl is here for basic obedience, learning how to relax in the house and learning to not bark/mouth/nip for attention. Stay tuned for updates on this one

Personal dog Arjun trying out our new treadmill.. made specifically for dogs! Treadmills have a LOT of benefits when it comes to dogs. More than just physical. I’ve had several nervous/anxious dogs come through who absolutely LOVE the treadmill. One of them in particular would try to go to it anytime he was near the room it sits in! Now why is that you might ask? Well this dog for example, genetically is more insecure and nervous. It’s not about one specific thing that makes... him nervous.. but in every day life, he lives in a more nervous state of mind. On the treadmill however, he feels much more relaxed. It is a way for him to calm his mind and just focus on one thing... just keep moving forward. Don’t worry about everything that’s going on around you, just keep moving forward. He absolutely loves it, I’d say even more than going outside for walks! Have any of your dogs tried out a treadmill before? See more
