Contemporary artist Sidney Hurwitz created the hand-colored aquatint entitled DUISBURG-THYSSEN III in 2002 (edition 20). For more than thirty years my work has been concerned with images of industrial and urban architectural forms. For the most part I have worked in the medium of etching/aquatint, many with watercolor washes. I find these industrial and architectural images an endless source of variety and complexity. These functional structures have a kind of formal inner logic comparable to constructivist sculpture. - S.
