This is good news! According to AMTA, "Empire State Development has updated the guidance on the definition of essential services. It now includes language stating medically necessary massage is essential. This would indicate that massage services that are not medically necessary would not be considered essential." For the vast majority of my clients, massage is not a luxury; It is an essential part of a pain management and/or treatment plan and considered medically necessary. I am relieved that I will be able to continue to provide care for those that need it most during these uncertain times. As always, I will continue to adhere to CDC guidelines to ensure client and practitioner safety. Stay safe and well!
