NOW IS THE TIME TO ACT! Remember this?! A permanent repair to the West Pier remains unfunded and unplanned. But a recent communication from Fair Haven Mayor Jim Basile revealed that new monies were recently made available, opening up the possibility of having a plan approved to repair Fair Haven's West Federal Pier permanently.... Please help out by contacting our federal officials and registering your support for Fair Haven's Little Sodus Bay West Pier Project. If you can, call everyone on the list below to voice your support the more pressure we put on them, the more likely our project will rise up in the priority list, and funding could flow our way for construction beginning as early as next summer. In February of 2019, I visited Fair Haven's West Barrier Bar Park during a fierce windstorm (as I so often do!), and witnessed the West Pier's sheet pile wall coming undone, swallowing up thousands of gallons of water every minute as Lake Ontario storm surges ripped it further from the pier's foundation. Although short-term repairs received funding, the larger, permanent restoration remains unplanned, and unfunded. #onePhoto

Dinosaur Park bids you goodbye as you exit the half-hour tour through the Castel Grisch Festival of Lights near Watkins Glen. These dozens of near-lifesize dinosaurs that roar and move are expected to remain a growing installation at Castel Grisch Winery, but the Festival of Lights will go away at the end of January. Tickets are limited and reservations are required, so I highly recommend you get there while you can!
