Today's very special episode of Sound Beat is brought to you by our graduating seniors, Ian Coe and Omari Odom. Ian selected one of his favorite songs, researched and wrote the episode script. Omari contributed the artwork as he has on several projects during his time at Sound Beat. We are sorry to see them leave!
Today at 1 o'clock EST! Join us in congratulating our amazing seniors Omari Odom and Ian Coe. Nice work, fellas. We can't wait to see what you do next.

In March of 1801 the Marine Band performed for Thomas Jefferson’s inauguration, and it’s believed that it has performed for every presidential inaugural since. An accomplished musician himself, Jefferson recognized the unique relationship between the band and the Chief Executive and he is credited with giving the Marine Band its title, The President’s Own.
Enjoy this piece from our collections, featuring artwork from Sound Beat intern Omari Odom.

An exhibit of his work, Desires and Harmony: Paintings and Drawings by Omari Odom began on Oct. 30 and will remain on display for the rest of the semester in the Sharon H.
