For the past several years we’ve held our Fall Fundraiser at @cafeat407 to gather with our community, share slow food and come together in support of our mission. In light of the pandemic and wanting to keep everyone safe, we’ve re-envisioned our Fall fundraising efforts, which is how our Brunch Basket concept was born. ... We hope you’ll join us for this physically-distant, locally focused feast! Here's how it works: + On the morning of September 26th, pick up brunch from Café at 407 to bring home and enjoy throughout the weekend + Each basket nourishes 2 adults and comes ready for picnicking + All proceeds go towards supporting our mission, and further supports our community’s movement toward healing Brunch Baskets will sell out, so be sure to get yours early! https://www.opheliasplace.org/fall-fundraiser/brunch-basket

All We Want For Christmaaaaaaaas is a sustainable way to keep doing this work. You heard right, we're singing-hoping-praying-humbly-asking... for your help this Giving Tuesday. We need your support to keep on disrupting and dismantling the systems that perpetuate body oppression. Every day, in our efforts to provide support, connection to treatment and education for folks impacted by eating disorders, we're up against some major barriers. Barriers like the lies and pervasiveness of diet culture, the hurts and oppression of fatphobia, and the overwhelm and manipulation of eating disorders. Frankly, it's exhaustive. And it takes a lot of resources to continue showing up for in a good year, let alone in 2020. Which is why we need each other, now more than ever. We need you, our beloved community, to continue playing a vital part in disrupting the systems, conversations and spaces that perpetuate diet culture and all of it's harms. Because if there's one thing we do know, it's that it can't be done alone. It will take all of us together to make the collective shift from body oppression to body liberation. So today, we're asking you to give as a way to show up for the work of body liberation

If we use up all our courage for these basic activities, then how can we have courage left for challenging the oppressive systems that have taught us that there are "good" and "bad" bodies in the first place?! #theeverybodyisbeautifulproject #allbodiesaregoodbodies #healing #wellness #eatingdisorderrecovery #edrecovery #recoverywarriors #recoveryisworthit #realrecovery #bodypositive #bodypositivity #bodyacceptance #bodyimage #bodyrespect #fatpositive #fatpositivity #antidiet #nondiet #intuitiveeating #eatingintuitively #screwdietculture #screwdiets

We love this quote from Brittany that she said in one of our book discussions! Equating health to weight is not only dangerous but it is also inaccurate. Our society has them linked in ways that are harmful and in order to heal our relationship with our body we need to separate these very different ideas. Join us in our digital course for 4 months of understanding how these 2 experiences got paired together, the harm this has caused, and tools to talk through these nuances. In a team meeting this last week, @allbodiesconsulting talked about this. She had recently heard @tejalyoga & @yogawalla, creators of the @yogaisdead podcast, speak about why this is so important. They are doing incredible work, if you are looking for resources on how to actively undo harm, then follow them on instagram and listen to their podcast, BUT DON'T COMMENT AND CAUSE MORE HARM. Sit with discomfort that may come up, research the terms they use, and read articles by ot...her people who share a similar viewpoint. This is how we learn and grow, and in doing so, hopefully that translates to actively undoing harm. #theeverybodyisbeautifulproject #allbodiesaregoodbodies #healing #wellness #eatingdisorderrecovery #edrecovery #recoverywarriors #recoveryisworthit #realrecovery #bodypositive #bodypositivity #bodyacceptance #bodyimage #bodyrespect #fatpositive #fatpositivity #antidiet #nondiet #intuitiveeating #eatingintuitively #screwdietculture #screwdiets

Do we have any Enneagram fans following us?! If so, you will not want to miss this interview we did with Whitney Russel. Whitney is not only an eating disorder expert and therapist in Texas but she is also the daughter in law of Suzanne Stabile, who is lovingly known as "the enneagram godmother" For those of you who don't know, the enneagram is an ancient, dynamic, personality system that is used not only for personal growth but to understand our where we get stuck. It is a...n incredible tool for healing and growth, but also relationships, work, and activism. Whitney not only gives us a thorough introduction into the enneagram but also talks through each number and the unique challenges but also tools each number can use. Sign up for our last month of our membership. You won't only have access to this interview but you will get every interview we have done to date. bit.ly/EBIBmember #theeverybodyisbeautifulproject #allbodiesaregoodbodies #healing #wellness #eatingdisorderrecovery #edrecovery #recoverywarriors #recoveryisworthit #realrecovery #bodypositive #bodypositivity #bodyacceptance #bodyimage #bodyrespect #fatpositive #fatpositivity #antidiet #nondiet #intuitiveeating #eatingintuitively #screwdietculture #screwdiets #enneagram
