Invasive Species Update - Spotted Lanternfly The Spotted Lanternfly is an invasive insect that can damage trees and important crops in our area. Recently members of the New York State Dept. of Agriculture have spotted the invasive insect in Orangetown. If you live along the Joseph B. Clarke Trail you may see members on the NYS Dept. of Agriculture as they continue their survey of the Orangetown area. The members often use binoculars to inspect trees and may ask for permission to inspect your property. If your property is selected for the survey, please note that all inspectors will have NYS AGM photo ID. Please refer to the attached pictures to help you identify the Spotted Lanterfly. If you see signs of the insect in your area, please visit our website for further information
