Congrats to our newest Assistant Chief on his then first run! Last night the first of many for sure, a quick carbon monoxide activation.

Tower flys the Stars & Stripes in Sleepy Yesterday afternoon, Tower Ladder 42 had the honor to participate in a great event. A true inspiration to us all turned 100 years young! Armando Chick Galella a Pearl Harbor Veteran from Sleepy Hollow was honored with a large celebration fit for a king. The Tower flew ole glory along with Tarrytown Tower Ladder 78. We thank Sleepy Hollow for the honor of participating and wish Chick a beautiful start to his next 100 years!

Changing of the Guard Yesterday the OFD held our Annual Installation of Chiefs. Sadly with our current society, it was not so normal. The Families of each Chief were able to attend to support their loved ones as they took thier oath of office. This was our new Village Mayor Rika Levin’s first official duty only taking office 2 hours earlier. One more FAST run before 2021! The OFD FASTeam isn’t gonna end 2020 quietly. Minutes after 9pm, the FAST was requested to Mt. Kisco for a Tractor Trailer Fire close to the Building. The Trailer was filled with tires, making this a bit challenging. Members would stand fast for a short time as the fire was mostly knocked down upon their arrival.

Ossining FAST on the Ytown 1075 Shortly before 2pm this afternoon, the OFD FASTeam along with the Yorktown Heights Volunteer FD were dispatched to Blinn Rd on the south end of their district for a reported structure fire. First arriving Chief Officer (Croton Car 2082) advised Yorktown Command of a fully involved structural fire. Tankers were called from surrounding agencies with a lack of a municipal water system in the area. Another challenge faced besides the water supply ...were multiple propane tanks in close proximity of the structure creating a further hazard. The operation was quickly mounted as defensive with the volume of fire on arrival. Engine 98 & Utility 51 would remain on scene standing fast until being place back into service around 4pm. ***Confined Space Team Training*** The OFD Confined Space Team along with Ossining EMS participated in a two day training session, instructed by NorthEast Squad Concepts. Part 1 of the drill began with a refresher on air quality, patient care, and rope rescues. Part 2 was a more hands on training which consisted of multiple different rescue or recovery scenarios. They included a victim injured inside an underground water pump pit and a victim injured in an elevated confined s...pace. Hail to the Chief’s Yesterday, the membership voted on our 2021-2022 slate of Chief Officers of the OFD. Voted in as our 2nd Assistant Chief Elect is Louis Fredo Sanchez of Senate Hook & Ladder Co. 1. Louis or better known to some as Fredo has been an active member for 31 years. Being one of the charter members of our Firefighter Assist & Search Team (FAST), he has also served as a Company Officer for multiple terms, and as the Chief Driver of Ladder 41 for the past 20... years. Our current Assistant’s along with soon go be Assistant Chief Sanchez will be sworn into thier positions on January 1st, 2021. 1st. Assistant Chief S. Gallery will take the helm as Chief Engineer and Asst. Chief M. Scarduzio Jr. will move up to 1st. Assistant Chief. At this time, the current Chief Engineer Manual DaCruz will be officially Retired joining the ranks as a Deputy Chief of the OFD with the identifier DC58.
