Job vacancy-Town of Otselic Dog Control Officer, beginning July 14, 2021. Job description is available by request. Minimum requirements include: high school diploma or GED and one year work experience handling and caring for dogs or other domestic animals; valid driver's license and reliable vehicle. Successful candidate will be expected to conduct a dog census within 3 months of hire and every two years thereafter. Also, the dog control officer is expected to acquaint himself/herself with current Ag & Markets regulations. Interested persons should submit written application to the Town Clerk by June 20, 2021.

Taxpayers: The last day to pay 2021 Town and County taxes locally is Tuesday, June 1, 2021 either in person or by mail with a postmark that day. I can not accept any taxes past that date. The office will be open June 1 from 9 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

To Register Visit: http://health.ny.gov/go2clinic New York State Public Health Rabies Law requires all dogs, cats, and domesticated ferrets to receive immunization against Rabies no later than four months of age. When attending a rabies clinic, pets must be under control. Dogs must be on a leash. Cats must be transported in a box, crate, pillowcase, or other container. Animals vaccinated for the very first time must be re-vaccinated the following year. Please bring previous vaccination records to verify if your pet is eligible for 3-year certificate. Please read the following information: Clinics fill up fast, so register early. There will be other clinics offered throughout the County during 2021. Pets must be pre-register for the clinic. If you have difficulty registering for the clinic, please call the Chenango County Environmental Health offices at (607) 337-1673 for assistance. The clinic will be drive through for checking in, but the animals will need to be removed from the vehicle to receive the vaccination. Please limit passengers to only those necessary to control the animal(s) (children should be left at home if possible). Please bring proof of previous vaccinations with you to the clinic. Driver and passengers must wear face coverings while attending the clinic. A $5 donation per animal is suggested. 2021 Town & County tax bills were mailed on Tuesday. My office hours for in-person payment are on the bill. Please wear a mask if paying in person. Other options are payment by mail or by the drop slot in the Town Hall front door (checks or money orders only). There is a place on the bottom of the bill to indicate if you want a receipt. Cash payments can also be made through the drop slot if you come to the Town Hall when I am in the office and knock on the door. Please call 315-653-7201 if you have any questions.

The Town Clerk's Office is open Tuesdays and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. and Thursdays from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. During January the office is open on Saturdays from 9:00- 12 noon. The office will also be open on Monday, February 1 from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. as it is the last day to pay 2021 town and county taxes without penalty. Other times are available by appointment.
