Today marks the start of Black History Month! This historic cultural heritage month celebrates the contributions Black Americans have made to our country and offers a time to reflect on the continued struggle for racial equality. It’s all about learning, so throughout February, follow us on our stories to gain knowledge about key figures in American history who have, and continue to, break barriers. #BlackHistoryMonth
Due to extreme weather conditions expected tomorrow (2/1/2021), Outreach's outpatient sites will be closed. Clinical services will continue via telehealth. For updated info, check here regularly. Stay safe!
Clinical Supervisors: Are you interested in an opportunity to collaborate with other clinical supervisors to learn and get support for the work you do? Join us for this virtual OASAS-funded learning collaborative at no cost to you that will also provide continuing education hours. The Clinical Supervision Learning Collaborative (CSLC) is for supervisors in NYS OASAS-licensed programs who have completed the 30-hour Clinical Supervision Foundations training. It will delve deepe...r into subjects touched upon in the initial training, provide peer supervision/support, and focus on the application of clinical supervision best practices to the participants’ work environments. The collaborative will be semi-structured, with part of the time devoted to allowing participants to discuss current issues and challenges in their work, and getting support and feedback from other participants. Each session will also have a subject to be presented and discussed, in the large group and in small breakout/peer supervision groups. Participants will receive assignments to work on in between sessions that involve performing a task at their place of employment that enhances the quality of clinical supervision. Today, we not only celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. but all those who stood next to him in the fight for social justice. For what has happened in the past weeks and months, we must now more than ever continue their work for social justice and equality, and follow in the footsteps of social progress.

Happy New Year!!
2020 has been a year of overwhelming trauma and change, and for too many families, this holiday season looks very different, with loved ones missing or unable to gather, some experiencing job insecurity or loss, and others confronting the devastating economic impact of COVID. Persons struggling with addiction and behavioral health conditions can be especially impacted during this time of high stress. If you are wrestling with addiction or all of this has caused fear of relapsing, you don’t have to fight these battles alone. We are here to help. Please call our toll free number: 1-833-OPINYORG or visit opiny.org to learn more about our services and how we can help.
In a year and season when joy is essential, staff from across the Outreach universe joined in holiday fun and healthy competition - safely distanced, of course. Our celebrations looked different, but that did not stop the virtual party, a highlight of which was a Holiday Sweater contest! The submissions came from near and far - colorful, festive, humorous, and simply beautiful, including some designs created by the residents of the Outreach Recovery Center! The Outreach team meaningfully engaged and connected, and a fair and impartial vote is ongoing to select the winner! Which one is your favorite in the gallery?
Warmest wishes for a happy and healthy holiday from Outreach!
What a beautiful gift from a cherished community partner. Thank you St. Camillus-St. Virgilius Roman Catholic Church, Rockaway & Broad Channel - Msgr. Richard J. Ahlemeyer, for your generous and caring donation of toys and gifts for the children of families who participate in Outreach’s Outpatient Services in Richmond Hill, Queens! So many families have struggled throughout this year, and deeply appreciate having these wonderful offerings which will delight their children! There will be lots of little faces with BIG SMILES! Linda, our beloved case manager who secured these gifts, is here - dressed head to toe in Xmas cheer - to share this joy!
