Did you know that transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS Unit) Improves Low Back Pain during Pregnancy? This study was to compare the efficiency of TENS with those of exercise and acetaminophen for the treatment of pregnancy-related low back pain (LBP) during the third trimester of pregnancy. This prospective study included 79 subjects (32 gestational weeks). Outcome was: Pain was decreased in 95% of the exercise group and all participants in the TENS groups as compared to only a percentage in the acetaminophen and exercises group.
