This property is in the heart of a corridor of 150 contiguous acres of protected land in the Beaver Brook watershed in Mill Neck. We are very grateful to be one of the 50 nonprofits across New York State that were awarded grants to protect open space. Legislator Joshua Lafazan Announces Holiday Drives to Collect Coats, Winter Wear and Toys for Deserving Children On Giving Tuesday (Tuesday, Dec. 1) Nassau Co...unty Legislator Joshua Lafazan (Woodbury) joined forces with local youth service organizations and the Woodbury Jewish Center to host coat, winter wear, and toy drives for deserving children and families during the holiday season. From 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. on weekdays through Tuesday, Dec. 15, donors can make contributions at the Woodbury Jewish Center, 200 South Woods Rd., Woodbury. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island is spearheading the collection of new and gently used coats and winter wear, while the Grenville Baker Boys & Girls Club is presenting the drive for new, unwrapped toys. Residents of the 18th Legislative District have stepped up time and again to address the tremendous hardship that has been created by the COVID-19 pandemic, Legislator Lafazan said.
