Our first ParentChild+ superhero of the month is our MA advisory board member William Cameron. He has served as the superintendent of four MA school districts and oversaw the implementation of the first ever ParentChild+ site outside of New York. Now a school board member in Pittsfield, MA, he successfully championed funding to increase ParentChild+ by 100 families over the next two years. We are so grateful for his tireless commitment and advocacy on behalf of ParentChild+ over the past two decades. Thank you so much!
Thank you again to Youngsingers Palmbeaches for closing out our annual conference last month! We were thrilled to share your talent with our international network of sites.
In 1997, Yrbania, a young mother, enrolled with her two year old daughter, Ylania, in ParentChild+. This set them both on a path of lifelong learning. Ylania fell in love with reading, and she and Yrbania began to read together every day. After she graduated from the program, Yrbania enrolled her daughter in preschool, and enrolled herself in college. Yrbania went on to work as an Early Learning Specialist for over 10 years, partnering with other families to provide early opportunity for their children. Ylania also graduated from college, following in her mother's footsteps. Not only that, but she still has a copy of her favorite ParentChild+ book, Take Me to the Zoo! #PCPlusSuccessStories

Today we see hope and look to a brighter future for all our children #inaugurationday You’ve got to start off and focus on the nurturing and education of children when they’re very young. - President Joe Biden I believe that a child doing without an education is a crime. -Vice President Kamala Harris
Last night, we were honored to have early childhood home visiting and health care experts from the Boston and greater Massachusetts community discuss the importance of supporting healthy early development and its impact on the well-being of children, families, our communities, and the world. Thank you to our incredible speakers for joining, and for the focus they bring every day to supporting and sustaining healthy communities, families, and children. And thank you to all who tuned in for the discussion. This is a moment of change, an opportunity for all of us to build a future that reflects our values and what we know children need. Now, more than ever, we must care through crisis and beyond. No matter what.
Before, during and after the pandemic, these words ring true. We hope you will join us tomorrow for our virtual event Caring Through Crisis, as experts from the Boston and greater Massachusetts communities delve deeper into a discussion on building education equity and the critical role early childhood supports can play in determining the healthy development of children and families. Now, more than ever, we must care through crisis and beyond. No matter what. RSVP here: http://caringthroughcrisis.splashthat.com/
As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to unfold, our youngest children in our most marginalized communities have been especially vulnerable. For two and three-year-olds at home, research tells us that childrens' environment in their earliest years will have serious and long-term impacts on their development and health outcomes. Join us on January 12th at 6:30PM ET as we hear from experts in the health community discuss how education is intrinsically linked with health and well-being, and share approaches that help strengthen families and the communities that are in greatest need. RSVP here: http://caringthroughcrisis.splashthat.com/
COVID-19 has impacted our communities with incredible force. Join us on January 12th at 630PM ET for an important discussion, as we hear stories from the frontlines our ParentChild+ staff, critical frontline workers who sprang into action to support families in our most marginalized communities, especially communities of color. It's critical that now, more than ever, we come together to ensure that no community, no family is left behind. That’s what our work at ParentChild+ is all about.
