I know my friends won’t be shocked by these comments. But here they are anyway. I believe racism is evil. Brutality is evil. Violence is evil. I Believe they c...ome from a deep-rooted condition in our species called SIN. It’s a disease that causes things like greed, jealousy, murder, abuse, unfaithfulness, and much more. It is literally the heart of mankind's greatest issue. Uncured, it will damn both body and soul for eternity. Good news! Literally, the good news is what Jesus brought us, and a cure is what he offers. He offers this by his death. He died that we might live and know what true life really is. We can receive grace and be transformed by it. By his grace, we can lay aside hatred and put on brotherly love. Love that sees much deeper than skin. Love that is unconditional and everlasting. It’s how He loves us. We receive this cure for SIN by repentance. We turn to him and put our faith in Him. We ask him to be our Lord and Savior and to help us live the way he created us to live. This is the answer to SIN. This is the answer to the current crisis. What happened to Mr. Floyd was evil. My heart goes out to his family and those in the black community who have been wounded and have been reminded of the sting of bigotry and racism. I also support the right to march and PEACEFULLY protest (I’ve done it!). But the ultimate answer will not be found in a fist. It will be found in the open hand that bore the nails. The open arms that embrace the sinner. The answer is found in JESUS. Andre Crouch sang these words, Jesus is the answer for the world today, above him, there’s no other, Jesus is the way." Even though we are still practicing social distancing we wanted to do something nice for our congregation. . . So we have planned a Special Service on Mother's Day, May 10th starting at 10am. Our Pastoral staff would like to invite you and your families for a special drive-thru communion and also receive a gift for all mothers. We will be doing this at BOTH of our campuses. Binghamton Campus will be from 10-12pm and we will be out at our Norwich campus from 2pm-3pm. Unable ...to make it? 4.22.2020 WELCOME HOME What an eventful day yesterday was. We found out mid morning that the plan for @gregmundis transfer was going to be accelerated, and h...e was going to be coming home to Springfield, Missouri. It was not long ago that we were so anxious to hear from the healthcare providers if my dad was making micro changes toward improvement. It seemed that each day was a gamble. Our family’s emotional state was a ping pong game with the randomness of good news and bad news. There is no question that my dad flipped a switch in his brain and is determined to succeed. So much so, that the plans changed from possibly transferring this weekend or next week, to YESTERDAY!!! Talk about Rallying?! I know there are so many that are struggling with their family members being sick. I know the odds are not in our favor. I hope today I am able to encourage those families who are in the middle of this struggle, to just hold on! Don’t let go! Keep fighting! There can be light at the end of this tunnel.
