The Patterson Fire Department has reached a very difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Book Sale. We determined that having a book sale this summer was not the right thing due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We are very concerned for the health and safety of our customers as well as the volunteers who helped to make the sale a success last summer. We want to thank everyone for their support in the past and look forward to seeing you next summer. Stay healthy and safe until then.
On August 09, 2020, a seven year old Patterson resident named Onyx was struck by a car while riding his bike. Onyx suffered some injuries that he has since recovered from but his bike did not make the same recovery. Patterson Firefighter John Barretto arranged with other emergency responders to get the funds and buy Onyx a new bike so he can enjoy the rest of his summer. Pictured here is Onyx and his family with Firefighter Barretto, along with crews from the Patterson Fire ...Department and the Town of Patterson EMS presenting Onyx with his new bike. Best wishes to you and your family, Onyx! -Patterson Fire Department No. 1, Inc.

Please, STAY HOME! New York is on pause. The COVID -19 Pandemic is serious. You and your family have a critical role and responsibility in halting the rapid spread of this potentially deadly virus. Taking this lightly, not following the Social Distancing guidelines and Stay at Home recommendations only prolongs the amount of time this crisis will affect all of us. These are unprecedented times and our lives are going to be different for several weeks, if not several mont...hs. Be diligent and resilient. We will get through this if we all work together. For now we all need to do our part and weather the storm. Please, STAY HOME. Joseph Nickischer Chief of Department Patterson Fire Department No.1, Inc

The Patterson Fire Department regrets to announce the untimely death of past President, Life Member and Fire Police Officer Charlie Smyth. Under Charlie's watchful eye, he helped shape the Patterson Fire Department over the past 44 years, always offering up wonderful guidance and sound advice. Charlie always helped ensure our members never forgot where we came from and where we were going. In addition to being a member of the Patterson Fire Department, Charlie was a Vietnam... Veteran, who served with distinction during a time of war, and was a very proud retired Iron Worker (Local 40). Charlie always had a great story to share about his life experiences and was always quick to be a friend. We loved Charlie very much and he will be sorely missed. Our condolences go to his wife, Eileen, and the entire Smyth family.
