Your Body Is Listening to You. We’re learning more and more all the time about the incredible connections between our brains and our bodies. We’re seeing that our thoughts really do affect our bodies. ... Even when we’re not aware of it, our physical self is responding to what it hears from our mental self. In other words, your body is listening to you. So, when you tell yourself, I can’t do it, that leads to your shoulders shrugging and your butt planting itself on the couch. When you say, I’ll never be good enough, your energy plummets. And when you say, I’m going to make it happen today, guess what? YOU DO. You might even feel a physical charge of determination. You might start imagining yourself doing your workout and how proud you’ll feel when you’re done. I’ve even observed this AMAZING phenomenon in clients where their beliefs about what their body can or can’t do becomes their reality. I’ve had clients who’ve truly believed they couldn’t change, so they didn’t. After some inner work, that belief changed, and they did change. I’ve also had clients who were doing AMAZING in their health and fitness but struggled with body image issues. They would tell themselves they were fat. And their bodies started reflecting that, even with no changes to all their great habits. Really listen to the thoughts you’re sharing with your body. So, visualize yourself living the healthy lifestyle you want. Do so deliberately. And do it as often as you need to. It gets easier and stronger every time!

You’re Not Too Busy to Exercise and Eat Right Of all the excuses people seize to justify their unhealthy habits, here’s the one that bugs me the most: Saying, I don’t have time. There’s so much that’s wrong with that sentence, but it’s amazing how blithely we repeat it.... * Why don’t we make it to the gym? * Why don’t we plan & prepare meals? * Why don’t we choose a healthy option over an unhealthy one? Yep: I DON’T HAVE TIME. But, you know, we all have the same 24 hours in a day, and the same seven days in a week. And unless you’re, say, a single parent working three jobs and going to night school, you are not exceptionally busy. It’s just too easy to fall back on that to avoid eating right and exercising. Seriously. EVERYONE IS BUSY ALL THE TIME. That’s modern life family, job, home, hobbies, exercise, community activities, etc. If you want to exercise, eat right, and enjoy a healthy lifestyle, then you’ll drop that crutch and start finding ways to reach your goals. Sorry for the tough love, but I am here to help with all of these challenges, including time management!
