Pool time!!!! #dogrehabilitation

Paws Unite People 03.07.2021

We did not hit the April goal but managed to get through by the skin of our teeth as usual. We still need to hit goal to make up for the lost grant, because the shortage has carried over in to May's budget. Every dollar helps. Please share if you can. The fundraiser is: fundrazr.com/61mgJf... Link also on bio. Thanks so much for supporting our work at the center. We love you all so much and couldn't do this without your help. We know the pandemic shutdowns have been so hard on everyone. Xoxo. See more

This is our newest case, Loki. He came from Kuwait in April, but had been having some issues adapting to life here with the other rescue... so we were asked to take him in for evaluation. He had multiple surgical procedures on his jaw in Kuwait as he was hit by a car when he was 3 months old. He seems to be having some bone pain from the change in barometric pressure. We will sort it all out. #catrehabilitation

****UPDATE 6/4 AT 10:44 AM*** We think we found the rescue. The social worker is waiting for a call from them. I will keep you all updated. Thanks for the help.... Xoxo Hey Long Island Rescue Peeps. Need some help. There is a senior citizen who was temporarily homeless and had to put her two dogs into a foster home. She lost her phone and all of her contacts and is unable to remember the name of the organization which are fostering her two pups. She's a senior. Her two dogs are named Lexi (black lab) and Bella (Jack Russell mix). Her name is Arline. Her daughter helped set it up but she's currently hospitalized. Her name is Irene. She said she thinks the foster in Huntington area. This is breaking my heart so I was hoping this situation sounded familiar to someone. PM me if you have any information. I do not have any photos. They were all in her phone.

Having some fun with the center training cases inside since it's snowing here. We could use a little help with food orders this month. The covid-19 shutdowns have hurt everyone financially, and we've been managing things on the shoestring budget as always here, but this month we are a little tight on budget. To donate to help use paypal.me/pawsunitepeople or venmo @pawsunitepeople To give a general breakdown of our expenses...... We spend on average $1250 a week here on food, medical supplies, supplements, litter and cleaning products. Rent is $2971 a month, Oil is $180 a week, electric $875 a month, water is $20. Vet bills vary based on cases, we were $4346 in December 2020. We have no paid staff. All funds go to the animals care. We appreciate your support as always. See more

Diya is still looking for a home. She is almost 3, a British Shorthair and likes dogs. She is ok with the other cats BUT can be possessive of people with them, so other cats are a case by case basis. PM us for more information. #caringsaveslives

Here is a little before and after. This is Baby-shark when he 1st came to us in April 2019 vs Baby-shark the day after Christmas 2020. It took months to rebuild his trust with people... he has come so far. He was severely traumatized when we 1st pulled him from the shelter. He could not be touched at all. Now... some of us are able to give him lots of rubs. He still has a bit to go before he could be adopted, PTSD cases take time, but we are so proud of him. We also are h...appy to see him smile all the time. #caringsaveslives #dogrehabilitation See more
