Everyone Counts. https://my2020census.gov/ ... Did you know just 60.6% of residents with a New York City home address have filled out a census form on paper or online, or by phone as of Sept 26, 2020? What is the census? The census is a national survey conducted every ten years by the federal government to determine how many people are living in the United States. The survey will ask how many people are living in a household as well as their age, sex and race. Why is the census important? The census population count determines how many representatives each state will have in Congress for the next 10 years and how much federal funding communities will receive for roads, schools, housing and social programs.
