In 1864, Rebecca Lee Crumpler became the first African American woman to earn a doctor of medicine degree in the United States. She went on to publish the 'Book of Medical Discourses', one of the very first medical publications by an African American, that shares of her journey and challenges in the medical profession. #BlackHistory
