From our family to yours! We are so thankful for your continued support of local family farms.
Hi! How are you? It’s been a while since the last time we posted, so wanted to remind you that we have lots of delicious meat for your early fall cooking! Beef roasts, short ribs, and brisket for the oven or crock pot, and both skirt and flank steaks for pan-frying in a stir-fry or fajitas. We also have lamb leg and shoulder roasts. Give us a shout if your mouth is watering now
Everybody thinks goldenrod is the cause of seasonal allergies this time of year. Ragweed is the real culprit. Goldenrod in our pastures can be annoying - the animals don’t eat much of it, and it can take over really quickly as an early successional plant if you’re not managing the land. BUT, when I went through the stream crossing earlier today, it smelled AMAZING!
We’ve got the grass-fed, local meats here at the park from now until noon! Whether you want to grill or slow-cook, we have something in the cooler that will meet your needs!
The first official market will be tomorrow from 9 am to noon in Oxford - we will be there, and looking forward to seeing our customers!
Flies! There are face flies, horn flies, and heel flies that all bother livestock. We feed a product to our cattle that naturally repels flies. It’s a bit expensive, but this video shows why it’s worth it to us. AND, no chemical sprays, rubs, or ear tags!... (Make sure your sound is on so you can hear the narrator )
It’s been busy here on the farm since lambing finished! But it’s a beautiful morning to stop for a moment and appreciate the view of sheep on pasture. Last day in this paddock before we move them to the big side lawn - which means we don’t have to mow it.
Being in the right place at the right moment can mean capturing some true Peacefulness
They’re out! (Only about half of them) It’s always so much fun to watch the lambs discover the outdoors and green grass - while I keep an eye on them checking out the electronet fence too!
