We sent over 100 individually packaged cupcakes off to Nate Perry Elementary this morning for Staff Appreciation! The perfect way to do covid friendly treats. Keep us in mind for your next celebration or event.
Oh how I loved this set of cakes!
Happy Tuesday! Snickers and PB&J are the specials today. Just a reminder that due to my Mom’s surgery yesterday, we will have our kids here all week so we will be closing at 4pm. We also apologize in advance if it’s a bit hectic, it’s already been a rough morning. ... Thanks for understanding, we will see you soon!
I have something on my mind tonight, and I want to share it with all of you. I’d like us to sit for a moment, and just reflect on the sheer resilience of our ch...ildren. There are so many adults who have struggled to adapt to the changes brought on by this pandemic. Adults who have completely melted down over even the smallest inconveniences. Meanwhile, our children have had their worlds turned upside down in the blink of an eye, and the hits just keep on coming with every birthday, every holiday, every activity cancelled, every sport put on hold. And yet, they just roll with the punches. They might cry, curse the sky, stomp their feet but then, they move on. They accept what is, and move forward with such grace. It humbles me. Each of my babies that are smiling big and bobbing for apples in this photo, spent some time crying today when the reality of not being with friends and not trick or treating sank in. They’re 9, 7, and 4 and the oldest took it the hardest. I held her in my arms today while we both cried. I explained what the risks were and why we decided it was best for us to stay home. I told her it wasn’t an easy decision for us either but we wouldn’t do it if it wasn’t the right thing to do. Within ten minutes, she had wiped the tears from her face and came out of her room with a new attitude, ready to have a great night. And that’s exactly what we did. I think we could ALL stand to take a lesson from the children. Happy Halloween, my friends.
I made a fun little char-spook-erie platter for the kiddos. Show me some of your fun Halloween treats!
Happy Halloween and Blessed Samhain! Please everyone, have fun, but STAY SAFE. I can’t help but worry. Covid cases are spiking so badly in our county, we had to cancel our plans to attend a very small kids party with friends at the last minute and my heart is breaking over it. We haven’t even broke the news to the kids yet. I can’t bring myself to do it. They have sacrificed so much already, and have been understanding throughout it all. I hate that I have to take away so...mething else. But we have to do the right thing. My momma is high-risk, and for that reason alone, we must take extra efforts to be safe. We will improvise and do our best to make it a Halloween to remember. I hope you all have a great one as well. It might look a little different this year for some of us, but remember, this too shall pass.
Just picked up our Halloween order from Crave Dessert Studio. How fun are these?! The kids are going to have a blast. Thanks Ty!
I’m planning to create a char-SPOOK-erie board for the kiddos to enjoy tomorrow night while we party old school instead of trick or treating. We stopped by to see our friends at The Half Moon Bakery & Bistro, LLC. and grabbed a few of their scrumptious macarons to put on the board. What’s everyone’s Halloween plans?!
Soon enough, my loves! Just waiting on permits now. It all feels so surreal. I just sit there in awe, thinking this can’t possibly be ours. It’s so gorgeous. If you had ripped the images right from my dreams, it wouldn’t have even looked as good as this. ... We cannot wait to open and see all of your faces again!
A good friend of my husbands surprised us with this neon sign. Isn’t it beautiful?!
We sadly missed out on doing fun spooky treats this year since we aren’t open yet, but my girl Emilie over at Royally Iced Gems has you covered! Hurry, hurry. They won’t last long!
Nine years ago today Peace, Love, and Cupcakes was born. Thank you all for making it possible.
Please don’t feed the trolls when they rear their ugly heads like this. They just keep saying the same tired old stuff, and making fake profiles to do it. They’re pathetic and not worthy of my energy or yours. We didn’t fail last time, and we won’t fail this time. Funny how we’re busting our asses to do this entirely on our own, intentionally haven’t asked for help from anyone, and we’re still getting bashed. Goes to show that no matter what we do, the haters will still be there.
We’re almost ready you guyyyys!
