Suicide and Substance Use Screening [The first 500 students to complete the screening are eligible to receive a $5 Amazon gift card. It's only 10 questions] SUNY Oswego, through Counseling Services, has been awarded the Garrett Lee Smith Grant by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Association (SAMHSA) to support suicide prevention efforts. By conducting this screening, Counseling Services Center hopes to improve their services and expand the knowledge about col...lege student mental health as it relates to substance abuse, mental health and suicidal ideation and behaviors. Go to the mindful_oz bio on Instagram and select "Suicide and Substance Use Screening" to take the screening from the Telecounseling Hub. Note that you will only be able to access the Telecounseling Hub if you are signed into Google using your @oswego.edu gmail account.

As part of our November #OzGratitudeChallenge, share something good that happened today! Did you listen to a new song? Hang out with friends? Or even complete that hard assignment? It is important to take time to think about the little things and show positivity. We’d love to hear it!

Comfort your peers and loved ones. Think about others. If you are able, help out your friends, family, or a stranger. Cook a homemade meal for friends in college to give them a sense of home. Buy a gift or send a card to your parents to show appreciation. Say thank you, be considerate. Simple acts can turn someone’s day around. Post your acts of kindness and share #OzGratitudeChallenge #ThoughtfulTuesdays
