When you hear the word High Intensity Interval Bodybuilding how does that make you feel? Intimidated, scared, anxious, fearful, curious? What if we told you that it’s really not that bad? ... Starting a fitness program can be intimidating. Even if you click on a website about functional fitness can raise your heart rate and make your palms sweat. But the rewards for overcoming those fears are many. Weight loss, long-term health, friendship, improved self-esteem and more. If you're fearful of walking into a gym, please try to put that aside and give it a try. As a athlete we need to take it upon ourselves to reassure and educate new members that the gym should feel like home. Here are three tips to overcome that intimidation: 1. Try a free class 2. Meet Shannon, She works in the operating room at Strong as an OR Support Specialist. She was accepted into the University of Rochester ABPNN program and will be starting nursing school in January!... Her goal this year was to challenge herself and try a different style of fitness so I decided to join Perform Athletix. Perform Athletix is always challenging me and pushing me to do better. I love how supportive everyone is and I have made some really good friends this year. #PerformBetter
Join us before the sun comes up. Classes kick off at 5:15am. . . Can’t make the morning classes join us in the evening for our 4:30, 5:30, and 6:30 classes.
What’s the limiting factor of the squat? Many times it is quickly thought that the ankles are tight. But what if we said we assessed ankle dorsiflexion and even hip flexion and found that the range of motion was adequate to squat properly. So if the range of motion is good we need to go to a strength imbalance and motor control issue.... Insert the Squat Press-Out: The squat press-out helps gain the appropriate balance to squat with an upright torso by counterbalancing. There is no need to go heavy, just enough weight to counterbalance. Try pausing in the bottom to start owning the position. Don’t just assume it’s tight ankles until it’s tested. #ATXPerformanceCare #assessnotguess

PERFORM ATHLETIX CRUSHED THE FESTIVUS GAMES TODAY! We had five of our athletes compete yesterday and a for a few of them it was their very first competition! James - 1st place male novice ... Sam - 3rd place female intermediate Don - 1st place male master Millie and Bibi were only one point away from the podium! The smiles on their faces are why we do what we do. We are so proud of everyone and their effort! Thank you for showing that we are capable of more than we all think we are.
Why do you/ we do something? We don’t just do something just for the sake of doing it. We are looking for an outcome, a specific outcome.... But is that why strong enough to motivate/ push you through the obstacles? Anything worthwhile is hard. So, is your reason why strong enough to power you through the pain?
