We help LGBTQQ youth experiencing homelessness overcome the legal barriers that prevent them from transitioning successfully into adulthood. During the pandemic, PCYP has continued ongoing, intense shelter advocacy for COVID safety, helped eligible youth access COVID relief funds, and secured legal immigration status for several youth. PCYP staff are so sad to hear about the passing yesterday of LGBT champion and philanthropist Henry van Ameringen. Henry's 26+ years of support for PCYP and his decades of support for countless other LGBT organizations has been life-saving and sustaining. In addition to his generous philanthropy, Henry was always willing to be a thoughtful partner in our work and stuck with us and other organizations through difficult times. We continue our work for LGBT youth in his memory.

It's the end of Pride, the halfway mark of a difficult 2020, and PCYP continues to work to meet the legal needs of LGBTQQ young people experiencing homelessness. For Pride and in protest and solidarity, we ask you to once again help support our work for immigrant youth, LGBTQQ youth, youth who are Black, Indigenous or Youth of Color, and youth who are policed and criminalized. When legal systems impact the lives of our young people, PCYP continues to be there to help navigate... courts, filings, and agencies that can either help youth survive or threaten them with violence. Here at the Peter Cicchino Youth Project, we know that COVID-19 is hitting our city hard, and so many of us are fighting for health and life, grieving loved ones, and struggling to survive after losing income. Those we serve here at PCYP, LGBTQQ young people experiencing homelessness, are being hit especially hard. Many of the services available to them have been reduced at the time that they most need support. PCYP is here for our clients, providing... vital legal services and case management support, with everything from getting young people green cards to making sure that young people with no address, bank account, or tax history can still get their stimulus payments.
