Just acquired this cool 1930's illustration from a horse racing magazine. The artist is Carroll Meiser.

One of the challenges of being an art dealer is living with the disappointment of being out-bid at auction. This painting by Roxie Munro came up for sale recently, and I was excited about it. She has done 14 New Yorker magazine covers, and this one is a view on the Upper East Side in NYC. 30 x 30 inches, oil on canvas. Tried my best, but came up short, shucks. Will have to be satisfied with making it my screensaver for awhile...

I'm not a rug expert, but like having them around the gallery. The geometric patterns that were woven in wool in the Caucasus Mt. region of Armenia and Azerbaijan between 1870-1930 are my favorites. This one is headed my way...

There is a tradition of palette paintings. This one is by Warren Sheppard (1858-1937.) Most likely the New Jersey Shore or Cape Cod.
