"Many of us bookworms are fascinated by cold, hard facts, so it’s time we had a post about the science of reading! There have been several studies on how reading affects the brain and our health, and you’ll be pleased to know that there are lots of benefits and no disadvantages."

The City of Syracuse - Office of the Mayor has announced that the Summer Youth Employment Program is back! The City is looking to place about 450 young people in summer jobs. CNY Works has created an online application. Please share with teens and young adults (ages 14 - 20) that may be interested!

Don't forget the art reception this Saturday, March 7, from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. celebrating our Women’s History Month Annual Exhibition, entitled "We’ve Come a Long Way Baby". See artwork created by women in our community - two dimensional art (photography, painting, mixed media and collage) as well as three dimensional works (sculpture, ceramics, fabric, clothing, hats, jewelry and quilts). Local musician Mark Zane and his daughter Janiya will be performing, and there will be poetry readings. Light refreshments will be served. Join us!
