This received as a email from one of my former clients. Hi Heiko, I just want to let you know that my divorce was finalized last Thursday!... The week prior my son came down and went to two therapy sessions with me. He blew my mind and answered my prayers to join me in therapy. We literally made miraculous progress just days before the divorce. He felt like this woman the therapist) was the first person that got him and it opened doors for us. I want to extend gratitude to you and our amazing group for being there and inspiring me through the process. What you’ve created is life-changing and powerful because it’s a safe place where recovery is universal; yet back talk and cross talk allows for the feeling that we’re not alone-even in the darkest of times-and that if we truly have the honesty, open-mindedness and willingness we can channel our truth among people that REALLY GIVE A SHIT!! I’m a member of AA here and I’m clean and sober but sometimes the rooms just aren’t enough. You have created a diamond in the rough, and in CASAC training it is the type of group therapy that could model a powerful example. We are starting a women’s gamblers group under LastWager. This is for women who are problem gamblers and are trying to stop gambling. It is limited to 12 women and will run two times a month by a qualified counselor and problem gambler in recovery.
