Dear Friends and Friendly Clients, With much guilt and pouting, I am letting you all know that I am closing up my business for the next several months. You might already know that I have the genetic disorder Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, and along with it I am frequently surprised by costochondritis attacks. When I have an attack, I need a couple of days to a couple of weeks to recover before I am able to do a photo session. Recently the attacks have increased in severity and fre...quency so that before I have recovered from one, I have another. Recovery requires a few days of rest with heat and NSAIDs, followed by massage and physical therapy, and during that time I can't lift anything weighing more than a few pounds - like my beloved camera. Please know I didn't decide this lightly. These attacks have been going on for over 20 years and I have occasionally thought I had "finally" found a cure, but they always come back. I'll open back up when I reach another long, clear period. Believe me I have tried everything I can find: physical therapy, back bumps, having my spine adjusted, oils, supplements, etc. When it comes down to it, I still have a genetic disorder and you can't alter a gene with oils. This has made me incredibly unreliable, and I have had to postpone and cancel almost every session I've had since June. I truly appreciate the loving support and understanding with which you have responded, but I know you must be frustrated with the planning you put into a session coming to naught. It's not easy to get kids in matching outfits, cleaned up, hair done, and schedule a time that works for your whole family, and I don't want to waste your time. I can still take pictures sometimes, I just can't keep any appointments because of the unpredictable nature of my assailant. I'll be keeping my page and website active, but I will not be booking appointments until my health demonstrates a reliable pattern of wellness. The wonderful Tanya Denmark, owner and sole proprietor of Candids by Lulu, has offered to try to fit in anyone she can for sessions in the mean time. But she's super busy, so call her right now if you want Christmas pictures! Thank you so much for your patience and past patronage, and I look forward to working with you in the future! I'm coming back! I will now be booking sessions beginning the second week of July! Bring me your babies, your seniors, and your wonderful families - I have missed you and I'm (almost) ready to click!

I hope the storm tonight won't wilt everyone's beautiful daffodils, but just in case, I brought some inside so I can keep enjoying them. Then I set up some camera flashes and sprinkled water on them to create a picture that looks cold and springtimey at the same time.

It's cold enough outside to freeze bubbles! I know most people don't care to blow bubbles when it's so cold that it hurts to breathe, but photographers are crazy like that. I just love the way they crystalize and reflect all the colors. This was blown onto my picnic table that was covered with drifted snow.

I've been working hard to get my ducks in a row so I can get back to work as soon as possible. Some of my ducks are harder to control than I anticipated, but I am making steady progress and got some good news today. I hope you are all enjoying a happy, healthy beginning of the holiday season!

Every time I pick a bouquet of flowers, I wonder if it's the last one before next summer. There's a frost warning for tonight, so this might really be it. Do you have any flowers left in your gardens?
