Great explanation on the new drop serve

Made the switch yesterday from my Gearbox GX6 8.5 oz Power to the CP7 8.5 oz. Just can't get over the touch/control that the CP7 offers combined with the power ...that's there when I need it. For me the balance is even better than my GX6, feels lighter even with them weighing the same. I don't think you can really compare the CP7 to the GX6, the design structure is fundamentally different. It really just boils down to which one suits your style of play. The CP7 is individually made. I'm going to start testing it against other paddles with a polymer core and carbon fiber face (e.g. the Selkirk Vanguard). Gearbox is the leader in carbon fiber technology and they purposely priced the CP7 at $100 to send a message to other companies that are charging up to twice as much for a mass produced, carbon fiber face/polymer core paddle.

Pickleball Island will be closed starting tonight (12/27) and will re-open next Monday January 4th. Court rental is available by request. Several of our people have been exposed to or have tested positive for covid from sources outside of PI. We make this decision in an effort to protect our pickleball community and look forward to a return to normalcy...stay healthy.

After further review (looking in the actual rule book) I don't see anywhere that the entire circumference of the ball has to clear the line. I apologize for the confusion. I got the post for the pickleball forum and assumed it was right. I usually research prior to reposting although I didn't in this case. Lesson learned. If anyone else sees something different please let me know. 6.C A ball contacting the playing surface completely outside of the court is out.... -J

The best way to improve your game is to take a lesson. We have the very best teaching instructors in WNY in Bob Gamble and Jim Seemueller. Tuesday and Thursday at 10:00am group lesson with Bob and Wednesday mornings at 10:00 for intermediate and above players group lesson with Jim.

Pickleball Island was COVIT audited yesterday by the Erie County Health Dept. We were satisfactory in our compliance but suggestions were made for additional signage, separate exit / entrance and more mask wearing when not on the court and between games. These pics are an exaggeration but we ask for your help in tightening up on mask wearing....THANKS!

REMINDER of the policies at Pickleball Island. Everyone is REQUIRED to wear a mask when entering AND leaving the building. No exceptions. Everyone is REQUIRED to wear a mask if they are within 6 feet of others AND not playing.... DO NOT move our chairs. They are further than 6 feet apart which allow us to stay within guidelines.
