To all Pine Plains Residents- Please be advised that the New York State Department of Transportation will be sweeping the State Roadways located within our Town... tentatively Thursday April 29, 2021 and Friday April 30, 2021. Please do not park along the State roadway during this period of time. The sweeping efforts will occur overnight and into the early morning hours. Although not convenient for those trying to sleep, this is the safest time for the NYSDOT to perform these duties. Please keep in mind that this sweeping project will target only State roads. Thank you! See more

The time has FINALLY come.......the beginning of Spring cleanup :) The crews will be out cleaning up shoulders from the snowplows and sweeping throughout the ...center of town on town owned roads only. Our contractor will be coming in (weather permitting) Tuesday, April 6th, Wednesday, April 7th and Thursday, April 8th to collect the sweepings from the edges of the town owned roads throughout the center of town only. Now is this time for residents located throughout the center of town to rake road materials left over, SAND ONLY(no grass clippings, brush or leaves) from their sections of lawn located at the road edge onto the edges of the pavement in a shallow layer so that the sweeper may remove them. Please DO NOT rake any materials to the road edge after April 1st. Although our efforts will be primarily focused in the center of town, we have not forgotten about our more rural residents. We will be there just as soon as this phase of cleanup has been completed. Please keep a watchful eye out for the crew and give them the space they need to safely complete these tasks. Please remember when approaching a work zone to slow down and be aware. Thank you! If you have any questions about your road being part of the specified area, please call my office at (518)398-6662 See more

On this day ten years ago, Detective John Falcone lost his life in the line of duty while protecting the City of Poughkeepsie. The City of Poughkeepsie PBA honors his memory and is forever grateful for his heroism and sacrifice. Though John may be gone, he is not forgotten. Rest In Peace.

**UPDATE (1/12 4:45AM): BRIGGS HAS BEEN FOUND AND IS ON HIS WAY HOME!!! We can not begin to explain our gratitude to the countless people who have helped in t...his effort, whether by searching many miles by foot, car, ATV, by hanging flyers, going door to door, by sharing our post, by messaging/calling with tips/leads. You have all warmed our heart and kept our hope alive when it was quickly fading. At the end of the day- all it took was vacating the area he departed from, leaving his bed, towel, food and some of our smelly clothes ...as well as a little territory marking by his main man Colton with a camera to catch any activity. At 4:00am he was sleeping cozy in this spot. Again. thank you all- we will have two very excited children when they wake up. **UPDATE (1/11 3:35pm): WE ARE NOW OFFERING A $1000 REWARD TO ANYONE WHO CAN HELP BRING BRIGGS HOME. We hope this encourages you to check your garages, barns, sheds...any place on your property where he could have tried to find shelter. Thank you! We are desperately seeking help in the return of our dog Briggs, who is a Fox Red Lab. We had him at the base of Stissing Mtn on Mountain Rd in Standfordville, NY yesterday (1/10) when he was spooked by a gunshot and ran off. From 11:15am (when he ran off) to 9pm we had crews of people searching by foot and ATV all the Stissing Mtn trails, Buttercup Sanctuary, up and down Mountain and neighboring roads, as well as all the roads that lead back to our home in Milan, with no luck. He is generally a shy dog, but very sweet and not at all a dog to be afraid of. He is often motivated by food so will usually respond to Briggs, you want a treat or Briggs, I’ve got food. If he does not respond to the offer of food, please do don’t chase him, just let us know where you saw him. We are incredibly concerned and praying that he had a comfortable place to sleep last night. If anyone has spotted him or has any information, please call 845-219-9527. Thank you
