Today, we celebrate the work, the legacy and the dream of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a true and forever leader! May his words continue to inspire our members to serve America with dignity and honor. "Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?'" -Martin Luther King Jr. #MLKDay

Wishing all of our family, friends, fans and followers, and of course, our fire district residents, a very Happy Thanksgiving today. <3 We want you around for tomorrow and beyond, so today, think small. Unlike any other Thanksgiving you may have had, large celebrations are not recommended and are considered "coronavirus super spreaders". (This is not up for debate so please don't leave comments contrary to this on our post.) We are simply asking everyone to practice commo...n sense when celebrating today. If you can, stay home. If you go out, continue to wear your masks. They DO work. Wash your hands. Practice social distancing. We know you all have cabin fever and find yourself in unique circumstances compared to any other year. But it's not unique compared to your neighbor, your friends or your family members, so if you're struggling, talk about it. It's okay, to not be okay. See more

A quick civics note: Today is the last day to complete your census online or send it in! It is *so* important to fill out your census because population numbers... lead to all sorts of decisions, including: *Money for city programs *Hospital funding *Where businesses will open *Public safety funding *How many federal representatives we'll have Please go to 2020census.gov if you haven't filled out your census yet, and make sure you're counted! Please folks - this isn't the time to rest on our laurels about this here. You need to practice all your common sense measures like hand washing/sanitizing, coughing into your elbow, cleaning frequently used and/or touched surfaces, MASK WEARING and SOCIAL DISTANCING. As you can see, while our county numbers were pretty decent for a while, It just took one, or two events to turn things around again, for the bad. Remain vigilant to keep yourself and others safe.
