All NYS residents age 16 and over are now eligible to receive the COVID vaccine. You can schedule an appointment for your child at any site providing the Pfizer vaccine (ages 16-18), or any of the available vaccines (18+ years). Happy Thanksgiving! Our office will be closing at 11am on Wednesday 11/25. We will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. We will reopen on Friday 11/27, 9am-2pm, with limited hours for illness visits only. We have a doctor on call for urgent/emergent concerns while the office is closed. ... We wish all of our families a very happy and healthy Thanksgiving holiday!

The American Academy of Pediatrics has released guidance for the safe reopening of schools. As pediatricians, we support these evidence-based recommendations (masking, distancing, etc). While we can't turn back the clock and send kids back without restrictions, as a society we need to recognize that in-person learning supports the mental and academic needs of children and supports families. These recommendations show that it can be done responsibly while keeping school staff safe. It is now time for national, state, and local leaders to provide funding in order to implement changes so that we can avoid a crisis in the fall. #SafelyOpenSchools

This week, one of our pediatricians identified anisometropia (a difference in vision between the two eyes, and the #1 risk factor for amblyopia!) in a child using our vision screening tool, GoCheck Kids. This child was referred to a specialist and will soon have their first pair of glasses! We are so happy to offer this vision-saving screening tool in our office.
