Oh Pear Orchards

The evolution of Fred to Juliet As many of our adventurers have noticed, there is a deer that has been seen alone in the various campsites. The deer (see camper’s comments) was originally called Fred. After further examination, it became obvious that Fred was really Frederica due to anatomical considerations. We found out later that our tenants were feeding the deer and had named it Juliet. For that purpose, we have finalized the name Juliet for said deer. This deer is ...extremely friendly and almost domesticated as our campers have been feeding it. Its parents and siblings are nowhere to be found, and it seems quite lonely at times. Please be careful with Juliet’s diet, as deer have sensitive gastrointestinal issues. Fruit, acorn, corn, and soybeans are among her favorite dishes. She has stayed on the orchard and, as long as she does, she will likely be safe from predators. If she happens to visit, don’t be afraid to stop and say hi! See more

Thank you to all those that participated with Octohpearfest. This was a great success and is much more fun than selling to big box stores. Healthier too I imagine. It was fun to meet you all. Our farthest traveler was Jane who came from Northern Virgina just to pick Asian pears at our orchard.
