ATTENTION HEDGEHOG OWNERS: In Upstate NY, we are entering winter. However, in the hedgehogs natural habitat it is a summer-type climate. So be sure to increase the temperature in your hedgie’s cage! Hedgehogs are VERY sensitive to temperature. Sometimes the cooler weather can cause hedgehogs to become less active, eat less, and even lead to hibernation attempts. Hibernation attempts are usually fatal in hedgehogs, so keep those temps warm! It is also important to provide your hedgie with a few more hours of light per day! Thank you!!
