Hey POP’d Family. Your mission for today is to fill out and return that vote-by-mail card you received if you are a registered voter in New York. Easy peasy! They’re due on Tuesday and we want you to have a relaxed and empowered weekend. Primary elections are on June 23rd. In Tompkins County we have big Primary elections for Assembly, District Attorney, and City Court Judge. Get to know your candidates and VOTE!... If you’re not registered to vote, you’ve also got a mission you can register online with a NYS Driver’s License: https://voterreg.dmv.ny.gov/MotorVoter/ and then you will be ready for what will be a very important day in November. Vote for change. Vote because it is your right. Vote because others are denied the right, have been stripped of the right, or are having that right suppressed.

Today is a day of Hope. Hope for better leadership. Hope for equality and inclusion and representation. Hope for protection of our natural resources. Hope for control over the virus. And, the hope that we’ll gather all of you on our dance floor again before the end of the year. Stay safe. Keep fighting! We love you all

Dear POP'd Community, Pending current political and civil climate, the POP'd Team has decided to postpone Saturday's event so that we, and all of you, can focus on moving our attention to where we can support POC communities, lift their voices, and express our collective outrage at a system that continues to oppress, marginalize, and segregate based on race. We will be back to support The Advocacy Center in the near future. Domestic abuse in our community remains an important... issue and The Advocacy Center is working to to support survivors in this time. If you would like to contribute directly to their efforts, please donate directly via Venmo: @ACTompkins In the meantime, let’s work together in the following ways: Showing up and speaking out, however that looks to you. Support POC performers Do your reading, research, and learning from voices of color. Actively engaging in anti-racist conversations Those local to Ithaca can join the vigil every Sunday at 2pm. Keep an eye on POP’d social media for resources. We love and support our community. We stand together in lifting voices. We will do the work to dismantle oppressive systems. Love, The POP'd Team
