*UPDATE* OUR CURRENT NUMBER OF POSITIVE CASES NOW STANDS AT 163. This is an increase of 6 cases since our last update, just yesterday. We cannot stress the foll...owing enough: Wayne County is seeing a significant increase in new daily cases. This is a DIRECT result of not having enough people taking our precautions seriously, or completely disregarding them altogether. It is vital for our residents to understand that wearing a mask, avoiding large crowds or gatherings, and remaining socially distant from others as often as possible is not only recommended by science and fact-based research, but they are crucial to avoiding the current surge of cases from getting out of hand. This is NOT a second wave of COVID-19 because we have never gotten past the first wave. THANK YOU TO OUR COMMUNITY WHO SUPPORTS AND SPREADS OUR MESSAGE TO CREATE AWARENESS!! WE NEED YOU NOW MORE THAN EVER!! WEAR YOUR MASKS TO PROTECT OTHERS!! PLEASE!! Out of the 163 positive COVID-19 tests, 117 have resolved/recovered (72%) so far. 42 cases remain active and recovering. *Active cases are calculated by taking the total positive tests and subtracting COVID-19 deaths and resolved/recoveries.* We have 1 new case needing hospitalization, bringing our total to 5 of the 42 active cases requiring hospitalization. We have received confirmation of 8579 total tests being completed AND processed, an increase of 130 processed tests since our last update. There are MANY more tests that have been taken and are awaiting processing results. We only report completed tests WITH lab results. 8416 out of 8579 completed and processed tests have come back negative. We have had 4 deaths of persons as a result of COVID-19. Stop the spread.
