Today members enjoyed some special birthday's. Happy Birthday to Tara Banks an active member of our Fire Dept Auxiliary and wife of firefighter George Banks. Also we wish Kim Mains wife of our Asst Chief Clark Mains a Happy Birthday. And it was our special honor this afternoon to help Josie Webster celebrate her 90th Birthday. Josie is a life member of our Fire Dept Auxiliary and was married to the late Willie Webster a life member and longtime past Commissioner of the Fire Dept. Josie's family said they enjoyed a special visit from the Fire Dept. Below are some pictures from her celebration. So Happy Birthday to these three special ladies.

On December 18th 2020 at approximately 2:00 in the afternoon, a fire was reported at 216 Salem St. The family of 6 is safe but unfortunately they lost everything they had. This is especially tough for them being so close to Christmas with 4 children, 3 boys and a girl, ages 6-12. Donations, both monetary and clothing are being accepted at Cheer Extreme NY at Excel Gymnastics and there is also a page at gofundme.com. Dad is a men’s XL, mom is a ladies med. Santa says Covid can’t keep him from his rounds!!! Santa is coming to the Port Ewen Fire District Saturday December 12th!!! Look for him in your neighborhood starting at 10am accompanied by members of the Port Ewen Volunteer Fire Department. We will be social distancing through this event but want our community to still be able to enjoy this time honored tradition especially during these trying times. Merry Christmas and have a safe and happy New Year!!

Spent the day with Frank Banks and James Ellsworth at the East Kingston Fire Company's annual Car Show. Our 1928 Sanford Pumper was parked with Frank's ladder truck. No trophies for Port Ewen FD or Frank but Jim did take home a trophy. Congratulations Jim Ellsworth.

Tonight members of the Port Ewen Volunteer Fire Department along with members of other are Fire Departments and EMS Agencies paid tribute to the memory of those men and women who perished 19 years ago. May we never forget the sacrifice made by those brave Fire, EMS, and Police members who gave the final full measure to help their fellow citizens.
