Opening day will be Thursday, May 2nd on Maple Ave from 10 a.m till 4 p.m. We will be starting to move things to Bedford Corners over the next few weeks. It's a L O N G process with all the boxes, books, and furniture that we have. Floors and walls are basically finished, but windows still need attention. We hope to be fully in before the end of September, but much work is still needed. Any help is appreciated! Hope to see you soon!!

A few of the Trustees are working at Bedford Corners getting rooms ready for shelving/storage so we can move the office SOON! There's much to be done: painting touch ups, washing windows, going through boxes, etc. We're anxious to move and have a 'Grand Opening'. We love volunteers . . .

We are officially closed for the rest of the year, HOWEVER, some of us are still going in to the office to do some extra work, packing, organizing, etc. to make the move to Bedford Corners. If you're interested in helping, stop in on a Thursday if you see Terri's Explorer or Cindy's van outside. We love helpers!

Just a reminder that we're still open on Thursdays from 10 a.m. till 4 p.m. on Maple Ave. Our newsletter was sent out last week. If you didn't get one, become a member so you're updated on what's going on, and you'll get a bit of Portville history as well! Memberships are still VERY inexpensive and won't break the budget. Brick orders for Bedford Corners are still being taken as well. Support our One Room Schoolhouse!

For the last few weeks we've been busy going through things at the 17 Maple Ave office in anticipation for our move to Bedford Corners. Gail Feuchter, our VP, has been a huge help in taking pictures and recording items that had previously been stored, but not accessioned. We are finding that the older we get, the more precious the memories. Thus, we're documenting more, scanning more, and looking forward to displaying more. Come visit the Maple Ave office before we move and we may just put you to work as well!

Just a reminder that we will be closing the office on Maple Ave. tomorrow for the remainder of the year. If you haven't been in to visit yet, now's your chance! Hopefully over the winter months we'll be able to be moving things to Bedford Corners to set up our new office. Let us know if you're interested in assisting! THANKS!!

We had a request at the historical society office last week from a person who is researching the history of high school wrestling in our area. He is asking if anyone remembers the song that was always played in the 1970's at Portville Central School during the wrestling matches when a Portville wrestler would win his match. It was not Na Na Hey Hey by Steam
