The ice went out on the pond two weeks ago, these two trout are pretty psyched and so are we. Campfires before you know it!

This photo featured in the annual report of a state commission in 1902-3, showed the discredited bark shanty, and its alternative, the canvas tent. Peeling bark for shanties and lean-tos had destroyed stands of spruce and scarred campsites and waterfronts.

Hot coffee for a blustery midday break while daydreaming about campfires under starry skies. Bliss!
