I am thrilled to launch MaiStoryBook’s Book-a-Day Series celebrating Pride Month: Every day this week I will be sharing a NEW interactive read aloud on MaiStory...Book Youtube that celebrates all the different forms of love and identity there are. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hn9OLuPnW0s Today’s First featured read aloud in the lineup: Auntie Uncle: Drag Queen Hero by Ellie Royce , Illustrated by Hannah Chambers. During the week, Uncle Leo is an accountant ~ good at crunching numbers and helping his nephew with math hw. On the weekends, Auntie Lotta dresses in fabulous gowns and performs, singing and dancing with her friends and nephew. Uncle Leo and Auntie Lotta are the same person. When Auntie Lotta performs a heroic act during a Pride Parade, and is invited by the mayor to an award ceremony to celebrate her with her friends and family, Auntie Lotta wants all of her friends to come. However, she worries that Uncle Leo’s friends won’t be as accepting of her and her drag queen friends. With the help of their nephew, can they find a way for *both* Uncle Leo and Auntie Lotta to receive the award? With bright illustrations and expressive characters, this is a genuine, sweet, and uplifting story about the courage to be who you are and let your true self shine for the world to see! Thank you to POW Kids Books for sharing this read with me!
