Before the pandemic, PRASAD CDHP provided dental health education to more than 4,000 children a year. In our office, volunteer dental hygienist Michelle is training our staff to restart the dental education classes at the schools.

A regular supporter of PRASAD Chikitsa, the Rotary Club of Bombay Kandivali, sent their President, President-Elect and Medical Director on May 5th to inaugurate the Non-Contact Tonometry (NCT) machine donated to the PRASAD Chikitsa Eye Clinic. With the help of this machine, it will become easy to measure the intraocular pressure (IOP) of the eye without using an anesthetic, a plus, especially during the pandemic surge. Sisters Prajakta and Sakshi live with their aunt Kunda, a cleaner at a local resort in the Akloli Kund village. Because of the lockdown, the resorts closed, affecting Kunda’s income. Kunda didn’t know how she would feed the children. They were desperate. Recently, the girls learned that PRASAD Chikitsa was serving meals near the bus stand in town, so they immediately rushed over. They were delighted to find freshly cooked, warm meals waiting for them. Since then, the sisters go twice daily to collect meals, which they take home to share with the family. Lendipada hamlet Water is crucial to prevent diseases, supports agricultural activities, and plays an essential role in food security. Through the PRASAD Chikitsa Farm Well Construction project, tribal paddy farmers like the Karpat Family, after experiencing water scarcity, received assistance in constructing a farm well. Now, the Karpats and ten neighboring families can access clean water for personal hygiene, drinking and irrigating their crops. Mr. Karpat grows fruit tr...ees, Jasmine saplings and cultivates vegetables, all of which provide income. His wife Darshana said, "My family members and I used to work as laborers, but now we don't have to.
