New Scotland Presbyterian Church 07.12.2020

Good morning! Here is the service for New Scotland Presbyterian Church for Sunday, December 6, 2020. https://youtu.be/qLec95ofKwM Today's worship celebrates the second Sunday of Advent, the season when we prepare for God coming to the world, and the Millers will lead us in lighting the candles on the Advent wreath. The service includes a time for kids, and sharing pictures that you have been sending in. We'd love to see what you are doing to prepare for Christmas! To share, e...-mail us [email protected] or message us through Facebook at New Scotland Presbyterian Church. Because it is the first Sunday of the month, the service includes communion, so gather your elements to participate at home. You can use the elements that are common to your dinner table. It may be a slice or a small loaf of any kind of bread, or crackers or chips. In some parts of the world, tortilla, rice cake, or cassava are used as this element, which is defined not as a wheat product but as the most common food of the people. Let it be something you can break and share. Prepare a cup or cups of wine or juice or other drink, even water will do. Have a good week!

For the Sundays of Advent, we light the candles on the advent wreath for worship. We would love to have four families lead us in lighting the candles. We will be available for recording beginning at the end of this week, so please contact us and tell us if you are interested. We will provide the reading, and you come to read and light the candles. We will work with your schedule to be sure you are here without running into others. Our motto is always "Safety first!" This is our stewardship season. Stewardship letters and pledge cards were mailed out this past week, and if you received one we ask you to prayerfully consider your commitment to supporting our church in the coming year. If you would like to make a commitment for the coming year, we would be happy to send you a pledge card and include you in our circle of giving. Monetary donation links can be found on our website at https://www.newscotlandpc.com/

With numbers of cases rising right now, the Session decided we will record the service for Christmas Eve so that we won't have to worry about canceling at the last minute, since we don't know what things will look like then. We are still working out the schedule for recording, but we would love to know if you are willing to do a reading, or help with any part of worship for that special service. We have heard from a few folks already that are interested in taking part, so let us hear from you, too! The more, the merrier!! Contact the church if you would like to be involved. Good morning! Here is the worship for New Scotland Presbyterian Church on Sunday, November 1, 2020. https://youtu.be/fjgNfYmNA4o Today's worship celebrates All Saints Day. There are so many people throughout our lives who teach us about faith, through their words, their actions, and the way they live their lives. I hope you will remember the saints in your life as we worship and celebrate communion today! The service includes a time for kids, and sharing pictures that you hav...e been sending in. Because it is the first of the month, the service includes communion, so gather your elements to participate at home. Set these elements in the room where you will experience worship. Perhaps you want to put them on a lovely cloth or fabric that reminds you of a special time or a person deeply connected with you in the communion of saints. Perhaps you will light a candle or place a flower or plant or the photograph of someone you wish to bring into the circle of faith beside the bread and the cup. Think about what you might do that reflects inviting a guest to your table. We'd love to see what you are doing this autumn for next weeks video! To share, e-mail us [email protected] or message us through Facebook at New Scotland Presbyterian Church. Have a good week!
