This Thursday at 7 p.m. on Zoom, the Press Club of Long Island hosts a free event open to the public: "Crafting Newsletters That People Will Read." Email newsletters have surged in popularity as news consumers look for trusted information that is relevant to their interests. A panel of three newsletter authors will share ways to engage with readers effectively and building a loyal following. PCLI board member Cecilia Dowd moderates.
The Press Club of Long Island presented an online panel discussion on How the Media Has Covered Black Lives Matter and Other Diversity Issues in a Polarized Era on September 24, 2020. The panel includes Monte Young, Newsday assistant managing editor; Wasim Ahmad, journalism professor at Quinnipiac University; and Rima Dael, WSHU station manager. Scott Brinton, the Press Club’s president and executive editor of Herald Community Newspapers, moderates.
