Happy New Year from Lower East Side Printshop!

We are thrilled to be participating in The Armory Show 2020!

This morning, on the train, there was a young man next to me with his hair colored light blond. I couldn't help but think of #JohnLesnick. He was a Keyholder and Large-Scale-Screenprinting instructor at the Printshop. In 1992, he wasn't showing up, answering phone calls, or teaching. Finally, one of his friends got back to me and said he was sick. Being "sick" in those days could only mean one thing. In 1998, as we were celebrating 30 years of LESP, he came to the opening! We gave each other a huge hug, finally met in person, both happy about the moment! He was active in Visual Aids and doing well... https://visualaids.org/artists/john-lesnick His artwork was a bit over the top, YMCA-ish, but he poured his heart and a lot of energy into it. We respect that!

We are Proud every moment of every day of the year, but in celebration of the Pride Month here's a beautiful print by Donald Tarantino from 1987, "Men With IV Poles."
