DAILY ALTERNATING LANE CLOSURES EXPECTED ON I-81 SOUTHBOUND IN THE TOWN OF KIRKWOOD, BROOME COUNTY, 9am to 3pm Feb. 17-19 Motorists should expect alternating lane closures on I-81 Southbound in the vicinity of Exit 2 in the town of Kirkwood from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Monday through Wednesday, February 17th, 18th and 19th . The work zone will start as a right lane closure south of the Colesville Road bridge, then switch to a left lane closure after the NYS Route 17 split. Thes...e are daily lane closures which are timed so as to have as little impact as possible on heavier commute times. As with most road and bridge projects, work may be cancelled, postponed, or prolonged due to inclement weather. NYSDOT appreciates the patience and cooperation of motorists and the local community while this project is undertaken. Updated signs are up, and GPS companies have been notified. *I-81 South Exit 4 S-N (Binghamton/Port Dickinson) has been changed to Exit 4A *NY 17 East Exit 4 S-N (Binghamton/Port Dickinson) has been changed to Exit 4A *I-81 North/NY 17 West Exit 4 S-N (Binghamton/Port Dickinson) has been changed to Exit 4A... *NY 17 East Exit 72 (Front St./Downtown Binghamton) has been changed to Exit 72B *NY 17 East ramp toward I-81 North has now been designated as an exit, Exit 72 A *I-81 South ramp toward NY 17 West has now been designated as an exit, Exit 4B *I-81 North ramp toward NY 17 West has now been designated as an exit, Exit 4B *Also, NY 7 throughout this project’s corridor has been changed from NY 7 North and South to NY 7 East and West. This now matches the route’s directional signing on either end of the project
